Reoccuring Yeast Infections - How To Stop Them Permanently

Why My Bacterial Vaginosis Keep Coming Back and Recurring? How to Stop Recurring BV Infections Permanently?

Bacterial Vaginosis is one of the most common vaginal infections and outnumbers yeast infections by nearly 2:1. BV is caused when there are more pathogenic (bad) bacteria in the vagina than beneficial (good) ones, which happens when the vaginal pH becomes elevated, allowing "bad" bacteria to thrive.

According to Dr. Seibel, women experience many of the most common pH triggers for vaginal infection on a regular basis:

1. Menstruation and Tampons: The pH of blood is 7.4, which is much more alkaline than the normal pH of the vaginal environment, which is anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5. Tampons absorb menstrual fluids for extended periods of time, and are therefore among the most common pH triggers that can lead to infection.

2. Intercourse: sexual intercourse can also change vaginal pH. Sweat and bodily fluids, like semen, with a pH of 7.1 to 8, and can elevate pH.

3. Douching: any vaginal infusion of water or other fluids can affect vaginal pH, as the pH of water is 7. Fragrances and perfumes can also irritate the vagina.

4. Medication: many different kinds of medications, from birth control pills to IUCs to antihistamines, can alter hormone levels, dry out the body, or change the pH of the body's most sensitive tissues.

5. Hormonal changes: Pregnancy, menopause and your normal monthly cycle can cause hormone changes which alter vaginal pH, raising women's susceptibility to infection.

"We are learning how to control pH in order to help women maintain vaginal health and avoid infections like bacterial vaginosis," said Dr. Seibel. "By making sure to keep the vaginal environment at a pH of 4.7 or lower, especially during these trigger times, women reduce the risk of infection and prevent unnecessary irritation and discomfort."

Why>? How to Stop Recurring BV Infections Permanently?

77% of all women treating Bacterial Vaginosis with Pharmaceutical Antibiotics suffer from reoccurrence within months. Most conventional treatments such as Antibiotics and Anti-fungals upset the natural balance of bacteria in vagina. In your vagina live both good and bad bacteria. Antibiotic literally translated means "against life" - it kills bacteria indiscriminately and you need many types of bacteria to have normal healthy balance. Taking the most commonly prescribed treatments for Bacteria Vaginosis will make the situation much, much worse. Because the medications also kill the good bacteria, the body will have no defense when the BV returns.

So how to keep the vaginal pH under 4.7? in order to keep bacterial vaginosis from coming back and recurring?

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
does anyone have any advice on reoccuring yeast infections & how to get them to stop? Doctors are not helping!

    • ANSWER:
      Hey there fellow Texan! ;)

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I am currently being treated for the same thing and I am on doctor #14 and he's been the ONLY one with a clue.

It's not all about 'not' wearing pantyhose...lol....

Here's the deal in simple terms...how my doc explained it...when you were born God made your intestines with good bacteria and bad bacteria...both are needed! But when you take anitbiotics, steriods, or the pill...those things KILL the good bacteria and allow the bad to get overgrown and it changes to a toxin, which causes reoccuring infections. If your immune system isn't strong as an ox, it helps it get worse....

PRACTICALLY ALL doctors refuse to admit reoccuring yeast is a problem and their approaches actually make it worse. They are bound by the AMA and FDA to only diagnose what they are 'allowed' to diagnose.

I got rid of/am getting rid of mine with antifungals (diflucan, nystatin), megadophulis (help the good bacteria get back in balance again), and I ate a sugar free/yeast free diet for a month to KILL IT. A bonus, I lost 10 pounds and feel fantastic! ;)

      Here's the doc I went to ..... www.hotzehwc.com

GOOD LUCK! Go to your natural food store and ask them about natural alternatives.

  2. QUESTION:
How to get rid of a yeast infection on the butt?
Ok so I believe my yeast infection spread to my buttcrack. Please, are there any home remedies and how can I make yeast infections stop reoccuring

    • ANSWER:
plane Yogurt it great for it to and a doctor will tell u the same

  3. QUESTION:
    Is there diabetes without symptom?
Many people say the following are typical symptoms of diabetes:
    Constant thirst
    Frequent urination
    Nausea or vomitting
    Unexplained weight gain or loss
    Blurry vision
    Leg cramps
    Itchy skin, but no rash
Reoccuring yeast infections in women, itchy penis in men
    Frequent boils
    Irritability
    Headaches
    Slow healing wounds
Tingling sensation in hands, arms, feet, or legs
I just had by sheer accident an FBS test and it became 180 first time. The Doc asked me if I had any of the above symptoms. I said NO. He ordered another FBS test on the morrow. The FBS became 163. The Doc advised me to have another one after 3 days. I did and it became 144. Now I stopped all cabs, reduced weight and eat vegetables. My FBS now in my once in a month test is constantly below 100. I don't take medicine. It is nearly half a year and I am okay. Am I diabetic? How often should I see a doctor? Is there diabetes without symptom? Is it possible the three tests are wrong? I took all the test in Africa. Your advice may help!

    • ANSWER:
Lots of diabetics do not get symptoms. That's one of the reasons it's so important to have regular check ups at the doctor. Others get sypmtoms, but think it's entirely something else, and some that have symptoms chose to ignore them. Everyones body is different. You need some carbs in your diet, the good ones. Just because you are controlling your disease does not mean it has gone away. If you don't keep up your diet, most likely your blood sugars will rise again. Even if you keep it under control like this for many years, in most cases later in life you will need to take medication of some sort. Diabetes does not go away, and there is no cure except pancreas transplant. You should go to the doctor every 3 months for blood work. They are probably calling what you have "pre diabetes", but it is diabetes, just another name. You do need to watch your diet and have daily exercise. You can eat lean cuts of beef, eat white chicken, turkey, pork....they just have to be lean cuts. Lean beef has no carbs, chicken has a few, so does turkey. Pork does not. But you need to get a dietitian or nutritionist so you can get help with a healthier diet. Good luck.

  4. QUESTION:
    possible yeast infection? need help?
Hi, i use to have sumptoms of a yeast infection about 6 months or even a year ago. They were reoccuring, i had itchyness, soreness and discharrrge. I never used any over the counter meds, i just use to drink cranberry juice. The itchyness and hurting stopped after a while, but i dontkno if its fuly gone. I stil get discharge. If i use OCT meds would it affect me? How do i know if i stil have it, the itchyness is gone?? Please help
I use to have the symptoms like 8 or 12 months ago, i dont have any itchyness or anythin anymore, I only have discharge now since then. Do u think its gone??
I never used anything to cure it when i had the symptoms a while ago, the itchyness has been gone for a while. Is it fully gone? Some pleasee answerrr

    • ANSWER:
First of all cranberry juice is not going to cure anything, nevermind a yeast infection. You are supposed to use cranberry juice to help promote urinary tract health - if you have a uti (urinary tract infection) the cranberry helps the bacteria not stick.
Anyway, if it's a yeast infection you can use over the counter medicine, and usually they work. BUT if you've had this *infection* for 6 months to a year, it's time to see a doctor and as soon as possible. They can give you a proper diagnosis, and medicine to treat whatever it is. But a doctor is definitely in need right now, because you clearly don't even know for sure what you have. Good luck

  5. QUESTION:
How long does it take for Monistat 3 to completely work?
Background: In the past 3 weeks, I've had a reoccuring UTI and was prescribed Cipro (500mg once a day for 5 days then Macrobid (100mg twice for 7days) after that stopped working.

Now: I'm pretty sure I got a yeast infection part way through taking Macrobid. Extreme burning all the time, etc. I started the Monistat 3 Day Ovale treatment. I feel like I'm getting progressively better - less burning, but still moderately uncomfortable at times. My last dose of Monistat is tonight, but I'm just afraid its going to come back. I'm also still drinking tons of water and taking probotics. How long should I give it before going back to the doctor for a prescription? I really dont want to have to go back - my health insurance sucks and I end up paying most out of pocket. How long would you wait?

    • ANSWER:
Your yeast infection was probably caused by the antibiotics, which kill both the bad and good bacteria in your system, including those in the vagina. The antibiotics should be out of your system in 7 days, and the Monistat 3 should take care of the infection. However, I always had better luck with the 7 day treatment. If it doesn't get better, you can follow up with another monistat treatment or call your doctor for a duflcan pill to help the infection. Don't have sexual intercourse while having a yeast infection or you could pass it to your mate and he could give it back to you.

      feel better soon..
