Cure Yeast Infections With These Easy Home Remedies For Yeast ...

Looking for a yeast infection garlic home remedy? There is no doubt that a vaginal yeast infection is one of the most undesirable types of fungal infections. The symptoms can really make one feel isolated with no signs of relief in sight. There is a growing concern about taking drugs which are often more dangerous in the long run. If you are unsure about garlic as yeast infections cure, this article will help you sort it out.

Garlic has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal which work well in killing off yeast infections. It is most effective at the beginning of the infection. Here is how you can apply it to treat yeast infections.

Eat one or two garlic cloves a day.

I know this is easier said than done as garlic tastes horrible. However, the benefits of doing this far outweigh the discomfort of tasting a bit of garlic. You can always get the garlic pills, which are available at most health food stores.

Apply garlic directly to the affected area.

You can wrap the garlic in a gauze first but some find this step painful and unnecessary. Another method of application is to make a paste from the garlic and to apply it on affected yeast zones. You can also put the paste in a cheesecloth or gauze and insert it into the vagina. Leave the garlic inserted for several hours at a time, preferably overnight. Be sure to remove it when you wake up in the morning. If your yeast infection is fairly mild, you should feel some relief after several applications in a few days when the symptoms disappear.

Although garlic is a proven yeast infection home remedy, it will not cure your yeast infection by itself. In order to permanently eliminate yeast infection you need treatment that is designed to attack the source of the problem. Most commercial yeast infection remedies fail to do this which explains why we see recurrent yeast infections in a lot of women.

  1. QUESTION:
Females only!(if u have use garlic to cure yeast infection, plz help?
Two night now I have been shoving garlic up my vagina to get rid of my yeast infection, but it still itch slightly but it helps alot. I was wondering how long should I do this? I have this yeast infection for a really long time so i figure it will take me a long while to get rid of all the yeast in me. Since I try the garlic my vagina dicharge is a watery fluid, is that a sign of improvement? help plz?? I really don't want to go to the doctor. Lets stick with the garlic remedy

    • ANSWER:
You need to go to the doctor hun...it may not be a yeast infection, and if it is using garlic has not been proved to do anything to help...regardless of what you have heard or read...it is a common remedy, but if you want to use something simple for a yeast infection just try plain white yogurt. Use a syringe and inject it into your vagina before bed every night for a week...this should help because it restores the balance of the good bacteria inside of the vagina, which should be a slightly acidic environment...yeast thrive in a basic environment, so try not to use anything that would change the pH of the vagina, such as creams, scented tampons and pads, feminine sprays etc...best thing to do is go to the doctor and get a wet prep test done to confirm the presence or absence of yeast. A Diflucan pill will cure that most of the time, otherwise you could have a bacterial infection, either sexually transmitted or not...in which you need antibiotics...DO NOT take antibiotics for a yeast infection...it is a fungal infection...you need an anti-fungal cure...best of luck and take care!

  2. QUESTION:
    Garlic for Yeast Infections...?
I have read a lot of testimonials about using garlic to cure a yeast infection... well i am simply not comfortable with inserting a clove of garlic in my glory hole for a few reasons... but I would be willing to eat the garlic. Does this work just as well? and how should i eat it or prepare it?
    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
I have read that too, but also would never stick a veggie in my vagina, for any reason. Boy that could make oral sex fun. Anyway, why don't you just get some Monistat or Vagisil and treat the traditional way? If you want to eat the garlic, eat it raw, I guess.

      good luck..

  3. QUESTION:
    Yogurt as Yeast Infection Cure?
    Hi Everyone,

About a month or so ago I got a yeast infection out of nowhere (ive had them before due to antibiotics). I used monistat 3 which didnt work, so i went to the dr. and got diflucan. I've never had an issue with monistat not working, and the diflucan took a full week to actually clear me of all symptoms. So i think it was a pretty stubborn infection. Since then i have been tkaing probiotics to help keep things at bay. However abotu 2 weeks ago i had that sudden itching again, but it lasted only abotu 24 hours and i was fine. And then about 2 days ago it was back with a vengance! Def more mild than the previous infection, but still very uncomfortable. Since monistat didnt work for me before, i thought i should go the natural route. I have been using yogurt (that tampon trick) for about 24 hours now and things really feel better. Yesterday I used the tampon twice and instantly i felt SOOOO much relief. I didnt use it at night, and this morning I woke up and it was back to being pretty itchy. Not horrible, but again, very uncomfortable. So I guess my question is:

    1. How often should you use the tampon each day, and how long does it take to work normally?
    2. Does the yogurt actually work to cure it or is it only soothing my symptoms?

*I really dont want to go to the dr. and get another pill of diflucan as I dont want to further help this thing build a resistance. I've also heard of garlic...does anyone know where I can get good garlic pills at like a pharmacy or gnc? I dont wanna buy online and wait days you know? Thanks!
*to Hope: Is there a difference between clotrimazole and that stuff in monostat...micanozole or whatever its called? I'm nervous to make it worse if i take the wrong thing.
** Ref. the trich..thanks, i didnt even think of that. However, aside from being in a relationship for over a year, I have had my normal gyno appt in recent months, as well as when i first went to the dr for the yeast infection. they did a culture and everything came back negative. If things dont clear up soon tho, i will prob go back and look into that option.

    • ANSWER:
I know A LOT about yeast infections and I know that I can help you. I've been dealing with yeast infections my whole life so I know how you feel. I actually wouldn't use the tampon and yogurt thing, I have heard of it but I wouldn't suggest it. You have to think... what if you left yogurt sitting out on the counter for a few days, what would happen... your body temp keeping it warm and stuff is probably not a good idea. You can however use acidophilus pills like the pearls and place them inside instead of the yogurt. The pills won't spoil. There is a difference in the ingredients in clotrimizole and monistat. See your yeast that you have going on might be immune to the monostat and thus you might have to switch up the medications to something with a different active ingredient. It won't hurt you at all to switch up on the medications either. I would suggest a regular water douche to get the yogurt out and then use the other medication. I actually wrote a really good article on how to cure yeast infections and I think that it might help you. It will give you tips to try and some natural remedies as well. It's also very detailed and easy to understand. Here is the link...

  4. QUESTION:
How do you cure an intestinal yeast infection.?
Okay let me explain. I'm 14, Back in september i had a throat infection that got real bad, my doctor gave me anti-biotics, A week after, i got some real nasty itch in my privates. I googled the symptoms and it came up with yeast infections. So thats excatly what i assume. I cant Go to the doctors Because i cant tell my dad. I dont live with any female relatives either.
I tried the whole Garlic thing = It worked for 3 days then it came back. ive tried eating yoghurt, even though i hate it. = Didn't work.

I didn't eat for 3 DAYS, Then it went away for 2 weeks :D But then it came back :/

Its now march. And its driven me crazy. please help!

    • ANSWER:
Hold on a minute. You are making some large assumptions. If you eat yogurt it will replace the intestinal balance. Although many herbs will work, your are going to achieve better results by taking a medicine designed to kill vaginal yeast. After all, yo know you have it there, and only assume its in yer colon. Talk to the pharmacist about the most appropriate over the counter version. They work great.

  5. QUESTION:
Question about using yogurt for a yeast infection?
I know this is gross, but I have searched like crazy and can't find the answer. I got my first small yeast infection and found a ton of info saying that yogurt (and putting a garlic clove up there is supposed to work, too) could cure a yeast infection, and to actually put yogurt down there and...inside. Well, I got desperate and actually did it. I also did the garlic for 3 nights.

I keep checking myself to see if the white discharge is gone, but I am still finding some white stuff, which is not lumpy like they say yeast infections are (but it is definitely white, and not something else), no yeasty smell, and is almost like a liquidy texture.

Is this the yogurt coming out still? It's been about two days since I did that treatment (the frozen yogurt tampon). How do other people get the yogurt out? Does it come out naturally? Get absorbed? If I only find a tiny bit of that and maybe one small (I mean tiny) bit of yeast, am I pretty much home free?

Also, I bought Actimel (euro version of DanActiv) which is a yogurt drink with lots of live cultures. Will drinking, say, 8 small bottles of this in the course of a day for a few days help curing this along?

I know this is a lot, but the question about getting the yogurt out is the most important! What is supposed to happen?!

    • ANSWER:
      First things first:
Yoghurt doesn't always work, nor does garlic. If you're still experiencing the redness/itching/burning associated with yeast infections you probably need to move up to the big guns (namely an over the counter treatment or anti-fungal pill).

The yoghurt may need a few days to come out naturally. Some will be absorbed and some will leave the body. Wear a pantyliner for a few days. The texture you're describing does sound consistent with yoghurt. Natural vaginal discharge wouldn't be white and watery after a yeast infection. Just leave it to do it's thing. If you douche or try to physically remove the yoghurt you'll just irritate your vagina and possibly do more harm than good.

Drinking 8 small bottles will do no more good than drinking 1 or 2. All it will do it up your calorie count for the day, and possibly upset your stomach if you're sensitive to dairy. If you want a better fix I'd buy a probiotic supplement from your pharmacy or health foods store. Yoghurt has sugar, and yeast thrives on sugar. You're kind of feeding your infection.

Also, if you have a little yeast left over that means you're NOT cured. You'll continue to have recurring infections. (Yeast is a natural part of our flora, but an overgrowth is no fun)

Anything more serious than a mild yeast infection usually requires medical treatment of some sort.
