Yeast Infection Home Remedy For Your Yeast Infection - Find Symptoms ...

Have you been suffering from a chronic yeast infection that just doesn't seem to go away? If so I have some suggestions as to why you're suffering from a constant yeast infection and how you can cure it for good.

Why do you have a constant yeast infection?

There are a few reasons for this:

Prescription or OTC drugs - Have you used a drug such as Monistat to treat a previous yeast infection? If so, this could be why you're suffering from a constant yeast infection. Drugs such as Monistat have been shown to cause constant yeast infections because they create what are known as super strains of yeast. This drug resistant yeast is very similar to the anti-biotic resistant bacteria that so any people are developing now due to an over-use of anti-biotics. We can learn from the same mistakes by not using these drugs to treat yeast. This super yeast is virtually invincible and will continue to wreak havoc causing constant yeast infection.

Dietary problems - If you eat sugar regularly in the form of anything from straight sugar to fruits and grains you will encourage yeast growth and allow their numbers to skyrocket out of proportion. The best thing to do is to stop eating these foods. This will starve out the yeast and make a significant difference in your fight against a constant yeast infection.

Genital Environment - Do you swim in chlorinated pools often? If so this would be the cause for your constant yeast infection. As chlorine kills beneficial bacteria in your genitals this opens up the gates to yeast infections coming in and causing problems. On top of this make sure to air open your genitals, tight clothing suffocates them and allows yeast to grow at a heightened pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
What is a good diet to combat chronic yeast infections?

    • ANSWER:
You want to eat plenty of yogurt as well as cut out most sugars, you do want to keep your sugars from fruit, also try to stay away from alot of foods that have alot of yeast in them, I have a high yeast count in my body and this is what I was told form my doctor. As Well, (may seem a bit uncomfortable) place some yogurt down there the culture helps to fight the yeast!!!!

  2. QUESTION:
Best diet for people with chronic yeast infections?
I know that sugar & refined carbs should be cut out..& to eat yogurt daily but it's not as easy as it sounds. Any suggestions

    • ANSWER:
You just have to be on alert at all times and do your best. Have you tried acidophiles ? It comes in pill form and it is the good stuff from the yogurt. If you find that you have cheated and have eaten too much naughty stuff taking some might help undo any damage. Good luck

  3. QUESTION:
What can I eat on a low sugar diet for chronic yeast?
my doctor (DO) suggested that I cut back on sugar because I keep getting yeast infections every other month....

And while I dont eat much refined sugar - EVERYTHING has sugar of some kind.

Anyone know of any websites that might give a list of things I can eat?

Anyone know how long I'll have to try this before I start seeing any results - this problem is beginning to drive me crazy - and its destroying my sex life.....which is just plain depressing.

    • ANSWER:
Avoid sugars, white bread, white rice, refined flours and starches, carbs, cornbread, corn, anything with yeast in it, etc.
HIgh fructose corn syrup is another thing to avoid (read labels). And don't drink any sweet drinks, juice, sweet tea, soda, even diet soda (it is better to avoid it because it can increase sugar cravings).

Try to eat more lean proteins - beans, chicken breast, fish, etc. And eat veggies, but not fruits (at first). Also eat low fat dairy, especially yogurt (it has live cultures that help regulate yeast growth.) Seeds, nuts, whole grains (like oatmeal, barley, etc) are also good for you.

Ask your doctor to put you on a low dose of Nystatin or Diflucan to regulate yeast levels. And you can also take Garlic or add it to your diet (it is antimicrobial), and take Probiotic supplements. Acidophilus and other probiotics can help crowd out the yeast and prevent it from coming back later.

Like always, exercise and drinking water help a lot. And get your husband/boyfriend to follow the same regimen so you don't just pass it back and forth to eachother.

  4. QUESTION:
Anyone have chronic yeast infections during pregnancy?
I am 9 months and am on about my 8th yeast infection...I am so sick of this. Anyone else have this issue? I have done what I can to control it (diet, keeping the area dry, etc..). Anyone know why this happens?

    • ANSWER:
I had a yeast infection when I was 9 months pregnant as well. It was my only one during this pregnancy, although I had one previous to being pregnant. Yeast infections are normal and common throughout pregnancy and its a symptom just like "Morning" sickness or Acne. When I got one at 9 months pregnant I learned to only wear 100% cotton underwear and to not wear polyester pants. Just keep taking the medication and try to not deliver while you have a current infection and are taking medication for it due to the risk of passing it on to your baby, or you might consider a C Section. Congrats & Good luck!

  5. QUESTION:
Suffering from chronic yeast infections. I can't take it anymore!?
I hope someone out there can help me with a little info. I suffer from chronic yeast infections, have been tested for every STD on earth and HIV, all negative. I only wear cotton undies, don't use douches or perfumes, and have eliminated sugar from my diet. Also, I don't wear tight clothing, don't use soap down there, and haven't switched laundry soap. Does anyone know of any at home remedies for this? Also, nothing my doctor has prescribed for me has worked. I've just started taking L. Acidophilus capsules today. I'd really appreciate any advice. I haven't been able to have sex with my husband for 5 months now; I'd love to have my normal life back.
Sorry, I shoud've mentioned I'm at the doc's office every 2 weeks or so about this. They always check under the microscope, and it's always yeast. I've had BV twice as a result of treating the yeast infection.

    • ANSWER:
Are they sure that it is a yeast infection? I thought my chronic infections were yeast until the gyn tested me for bacterial vaginosis and what do you know, that is what it was. It isn't an STD. Check out the website below. But you will have to go on medication for 5-7 days to treat it.

But if it isn't and just yeast or itchiness my Dr. told me to do a sitz bath with baking soda, it worked that and i swithed my "down there" soap to Dove sensitive skin and I haven't had a problem since.

But go to you gyn and ask to be tested for BV. It is tested the same way yeast is, under a microscope.

I hope this helped, I know how you are feeling.

Why can't you have sex with the hubby? Girl, use condoms if you are worried about him getting a yeast infection. The chances are slim for him to get one (unless he still has his foreskin) as long as he wipes/washes off after.

      Good luck!!

Saw your additional info on there, I don't know what it is then. Maybe change doc's and see if they can find something to help you. I would be disheartened also if I was in the doc's office every two weeks. You eat/drink a lot of sugary things? I remember my grandma said she used to get them a lot and that they did some kind of procedure and she never got one again. I will have to call her tomorrow and see what it was.
