Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Curing a yeast infection while pregnant?
Has anyone used the 3 day treatment before? The 7 day treatment was wayyyy to pricey. So I had to buy the 3 day. I just got done taking medication for a UTI which I think is what caused the yeast infection. Its the equate brand so I could afford that one. I don't wanna hear ask a doctor or anything like that because I don't have a doctor and wont for at least 2 more weeks. I'm 13w2d pregnant. Just wondering if anyone else used the 3 day treatment and was fine.
It came with 3 things you insert in, and it came with a cream to use 2 times a day on the out side for the itching.
Sorry I don't have 30 dollars to spend on a treatment like that when I can spend 8 dollars instead. Money is tight. Welcome to the rescission.
And I've used the 3 day cheap treatments before and they worked fine. Haven't had one in like a year and a half. But now I'm pregnant so I have one. The 3 day cheap ones work just as well.
I went to Wal-Mart and they only had name brand ones that were WAY to expensive.
Yes because Im not rich I obviously dont care. I dont have your problems the cheap ones work for me. And its a stupid question why are you answering it with your even more pointless answers?

    • ANSWER:
Any of which are fine, Monistat, Equate, store brand, they all have that one key ingredient, tioconazole or Miconazole, (If it has the zole at the end, it will work) however my doctor did prescribe me the Monistat 7. I only used like 2 and was fine. However, my doctor did also advise me not to treat my yeast until 14 weeks. It was killer waiting, I had the infect since like 8 wks. I don't really believe it will harm the pregnancy, but this is what I was instructed not to do.

Besides other comments, my yeast infection was and never really has been bad to where it was dire I take all the doses. Usually mines would heal with only minor help. And no they did not keep reoccuring.

  2. QUESTION:
How can I cure yeast infection? During pregnacy..?
I need help how can i cure yeast infection while im pregnant??

    thanks for the answers!!..

    • ANSWER:
first off go to your doctor so they can make sure its not another more serious infection that looks like a yeast infection. once youve got that covered theyll refer you to get an over the counter yeast infection treatment thats at least 7 days long. anything else isnt enough medication to make sure you definitely got it.

  3. QUESTION:
Is it ok to treat a yeast infection with yogurt while pregnant?
I am currently pregnant and will be 9 months May 15th. Before I was pregnant I had a couple of yeast infections and treated them with the whole yogurt on the tampon remedy and it helped to cure it, but is it safe to do this while being pregnant? And if not are there any other home remedies that you could do to treat it thats safe for me and my baby?

    • ANSWER:
I had thrush whilst 8 months pregnant. I phoned my GP and he said it was safe to use a Canestan Pessary which I did. Baby was fine and infection cleared straight away. Speak to your GP.

  4. QUESTION:
Is it common to have a recurring yeast infection while pregnant?
I'm 16 weeks pregnant and it seems like i've had a yeast infection on and off from when I first found out I was pregnant. At first they put me on a anti biotic for what they thought was a bladder infection, and then the symptoms turned more towards a yeast infection. So they put me on a cream for that, which helped but didn't totally cure it. It seems like it will go away for a week and then come back the next. Its been tolerable but its starting to get bad again and I dont understand why anything isn't helping it? Could I have given it to my boyfriend & him not know it, and we keep giving it back to each other? (I wasn't aware men could get yeast infections until recently) Do they show symptoms? Or is there any other infection that could cause yeast like symptoms? Or does pregnancy give these kind of symptoms?! I'm so frustrated and worried!! Help!

    • ANSWER:
id get you and your boyfriend treated as yes you can pass it on i suffered with it all threw my pregnancy and live yoghurt does help

  5. QUESTION:
For Moms Who Had Yeast Infections While Pregnant, Did Monistat Work?
almost 39 weeks pregnant and having some bleeding. My midwife has ruled out placental bleeding through a diagnostic sonogram and now thinks the bleeding I am having my be an irritated cervix caused by a yeast infection I have. Anyone else ever have this??
She is having me start Monistat 3 day Treatment, did that cure your infection? Thank you

    • ANSWER:
Its better to use the monistat 7 day treatment as those work better for yeast infections; the 3 day may relieve some of the symptoms but yeast usually needs to be killed slowly and the 7 day is safer in pregnancy. I used Diflucan which is an oral antibiotic for yeast infections (its a cat C same as monistat and is a one time pill dose) which knocked out my yeast infection. I too was having some bleeding but have not had any since I took the Diflucan. Good luck, they are irritating, get it taken care of.
