  1. QUESTION:
Treatment for male yeast infection in the prostate gland -- is my boyfriend being ripped off?
I had a yeast infection and have passed it onto my boyfriend (I told him I can't have sex but he insisted). I had 2 labtests to confirm that it was yeast infection.

My boyfriend, the stupid jerk, went to a private male hospital to get the "good" (expensive) stuff. Yesterday they stuck a tube down his penis and shot medication into his testicles that way. The doctor claimed that he needed to make his sperms stronger after the infection, so the doctor put him on some kind of IV for an hour, and told him to return today for a follow up treatment. My boyfriend paid 0 for that "yeast infection treatment".

Today my boyfriend went back to the hospital and the doctor put him on that IV for another 3 hours, and paid another 0 for that "follow up yeast infection treatment".

The doctor had, Once AGAIN, told my boyfriend to return tomorrow to test his sperm samples and get some oral medication and God knows do another "treatment" for another grand or something I don't know.

The doctor told my boyfriend, and I quote, "strong and healthy and athletic guys get these infections easier because they exercise and get tired afterwards, and that's the time when their immune system is the weakest".................................. WHAT!!! So ok... unhealthy people don't get tired after they exercise? Weak people have better immune systems after they don't get tired from exercising?.... and the doctor said "don't make your sex sessions last for too long, it makes you tired and when you get tired, you'll get an infection easier"....

I can understand if he has sex with me for a long session, he might be more susceptible to a yeast infection because he was exposed to my vagina for a longer period of time. But... What is this doctor saying? I don't get it!.... Is it me? Or is the doctor right? Or he wants more money? Someone please explain this to me.

I told my boyfriend -- YOU GOT RIPPED OFF.... My doctor gave me several pills and some vaginal tablets for like not even 0 including the labtest and everything. My boyfriend was like "you're not the doctor, men and women are different! You're stupid"....

Is he being ripped off? Is that how they treat yeast infection in the prostate gland for men? I'm just thinking, I do get yeast infections every now and then, and what if it happens to my boyfriend again, would he have to spend a grand on a stupid yeast infection treatment next time??
If he's lying about what he was being treated for, (in other words he cheated and caught something nasty), based on the treatment, what disease does that sound like he caught?

    • ANSWER:
Typically a man will just take Diflucon for a yeast infection. Its not in the testicles or the prostate gland, just in the urethra and under the foreskin on the glans. Sometimes it can effect the whule digestive tract (mouth etc). It sounds like he has been ripped off. dont know why they put him on an I.V. Yeast infection is just a fungal infection.

Edit: I think he is just being taken for a ride. Even if it was 'something nasty' ie; s.t.i. depending on the infection, generally just a course of anti-biotics would take care of it, if it is bacterial. if it was viral, it cant be cured put can usually be maintained and controlled. But if you believe that there may be something unrelated that he is maybe afraid to tell you about, you should ask him.

  2. QUESTION:
Natural Remedies for Male Yeast Infection?
My b/f and I have been playing this fun game of "pass the yeast infection" I've been doing the over the counter treatment and he's been doing a similar regiem of putting Monistat (which we lovingly call Manistat) on the head of his penis etc. I recently read about a natural remedy for curing a female yeast infection which was inserting Garlic into the Vagina, worked magically as disgusting as it sounds and is cheaper than spending the 17 bucks on Monistat. He is uncircumsized (love it) and the cleanest man I've ever met. Soaking his member in vinigar and putting Monistat on it seems to clear up the infection, but after a month we seem to be back at square one with me running to the pharmacy and both of us sitting with an uncomfortable burn! I've heard there is an oral medication to cure this issue, but due to some sort of heart condition B/F can't take it... any natural remedies I haven't tried yet?? I mean the Garlic works amazing for me, but I can't imagine where he'd shove it LoL! We try to be as clean as possible as we have sex on average about 4 times EVERY night so pre-bed showers always come into play. We are oober clean, I don't douch I only use a mild "lady bits" soap on the outer parts of the vagina. I do use birth control which I've heard can cause Yeast issues. Any sugestions are welcome!!

    • ANSWER:
I think it's possible that both of you are being a tad hyper-vigilant with hygiene (important though it is!). And it sounds like you're just constantly passing a yeast infection from one person to the other.

For both of you, perhaps the soap might be partly the cause. Some soaps are just too strong to be used on such sensitive tissues and can cause irritation, dryness, redness, soreness, and yes even yeast infections. Use an unscented mild soap or no soap at all even, that might help.

For him, just pulling back his foreskin when he showers is enough. When he's done, he should dry the area under his foreskin gently before returning his foreskin back over the glans (penis head). It could also help if he pulls back his foreskin when he urinates, to prevent urine from remaining under his foreskin (which doesn't help with the yeast infection).

For both of you, eating yogurt and drinking cranberry juice can help. Exercise and a balanced diet are also important in helping your bodies keep yeast infections in check. Also, you may be having sex too much too soon. 4x a day is fine, but 4x a night every night is almost just asking for trouble. And he should use a condom every time until the yeast infection clears in both of you.

  3. QUESTION:
Male yeast infection. is there anything I can take over the counter?
My doctor diagnosed me about a month ago with a yeast infection "downstairs". Usual symptoms - inflamed foreskin, itchy, sore to touch etc. I am hygenic so I'm not sure how I got it

She prescribed me with caneston which worked well for several weeks until everything was nearly better. Then, all of a sudden, it has come back again. Caneston doesn't seem to be working anymore and I've been using it for four or five days.

Is there any other treatments I can get over the counter that may work? would caneston duo work better? Any other tips?

Do things that work for women work for men?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

  4. QUESTION:
What do men need in drugstores/pharmacies that they evidently are missing out on because of feminism?
"Why do women need a entire section in the pharmacy ??" Are men really outraged in drugstores to see "there was an entire section devoted to women's health,hygiene..."?

There must be something because evidently some men want Douches For Men, Male Breast Pumps, Pregnancy Tests For Men, Yeast Infection Treatments For Men, Black Cohosh For Menopausal Male Hot Flashes... can anyone think of any more useful, as-yet-not-invented products so men can be more at ease in their own skin and learn to fear feminism less?
SA, what are these "products" of which you speak? You are dancing around my question, unable to answer. What PRODUCTS are needed???
Correction, I used the wrong word. I am asking what are these urgently needed missing "SUPPLIES"? How can the store order these ITEMS if you can't articulate what they are???
There is nothing at all offensive about "Vagina dentis". You obviously haven't bothered to look it up to see what it means. Try a zoology glossary.
"Signs and symptoms of a male yeast infection include a reddish rash, itching or burning at the tip of the penis. Fortunately, most male yeast infections are easily treated with an over-the-counter antifungal treatment, such as Monistat (yes, men can use it too). Apply the medication directly to the affected skin twice daily for a week. If the rash doesn't go away, or if it recurs frequently, consult your doctor."

Can anyone think of a NEW product drug stores need to be ordering for their male customers?

    • ANSWER:
For anyone who's not familiar with "male yeast infections" try substituting the term JOCK ITCH...

I thought the term was "vagina dentata" but perhaps it's a matter of latin conjugation...

The pharmacy already has way more crap "for men" than I'll ever need...

  5. QUESTION:
If a Muslim chick gets a feminine trouble, and there is only a male gynecologist, what happens next?
Does her man forbid her treatment? Or, does he acquiesce seeing his wife needs assistance and this man is the only doctor in the town/village to help? Just curious. Before you Muslim call me names and say "impossible" I had a male medic try and help a woman who needed some simple yeast infection cream, and her brother, husband and uncle would not even allow him to simply check her vital signs. A female chaperone (although not a medic) was standing by for the exam. They were upset when they discovered she was not the doctor, and refused treatment for the lady. This is insane. Modesty before health? Inasnity before all?

    • ANSWER:
      That's just sad.
