Signs Of A Yeast Infection In Children

According to statistics, almost all women will have a yeast infection at least once during their lifetime. Some are more prone to them than others and seem to keep getting them over and over again. If you've had them before, you probably know what to look out for, but if you haven't, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the yeast infection signs and symptoms.
Although yeast infections can happen almost anywhere on the body, they are most common in the moist areas such as the vagina. Yeast infections can happen to anyone, even the most healthiest of individuals. The infection is caused by an overrun of the Candida albicans fungus which can grow uncontrollably under the right conditions. Though normally, the vagina is too acidic for them to take hold sometimes things do get a little out of whack and a yeast infection can set in.
Yeast infections can be nasty business, interrupting your daily activities and putting a real damper on your lifestyle. That's why it's important to know how to recognize the early symptoms so you can head it off at the pass. Here are some of the yeast infection signs you should look out for in order to catch it at the beginning so you can eradicate it before it gets worse:
1. The most noticeable sign is itching. This can be very severe and it can actually even disrupt your life because it is so unbearable. As you can imagine, itching in this area can be quite inconvenient!
2. Itching could be accompanied by a burning pain in the vagina during urination.
3. Discharge typically accompanies a yeast infection. The discharge can vary - it can be white with no smell or very thick with a strong smell. If there is unusually thick and smelly discharge, you should see your doctor right away.
When it comes to yeast infections, the earlier you can treat it the better off you are. That's because the Candida albicans, if left unchecked, will grow exponentially making the infection worse and worse as time goes on. Therefore, knowing the signs and taking action right away is key in getting rid of these problematic infections.
There are plenty of home remedies for yeast infection, but if you haven't had one before and notice some of these yeast infection signs, the smartest thing to do is go to your doctor and get an official diagnosis. Your doctor can also recommend some medication that will help clear up the infection. Once you know what the signs are, you easily be able to tell right away if you are unlucky enough to get another yeast infection. This will enable you to start treatment at the first signs and, hopefully, clear up your infection.
Once you have consulted with your doctor you might try some of the natural yeast infection remedies such as yogurt, garlic, honey or tea tree oil. Yes, you can use these topically but you can also ingest them for yeast infection relief.

QUESTION:
have any of you started out with a yeast infection?
I think I might be pregnant. (yes im going to buy a test, I just want to wait a few days before I spend the money on one) I already have two children. But it was different signs with both of them. I had sex with my husband about 2 and a half weeks ago, now I appear to have a yeast infection.... but I don't know what else could be causing it other than pregnancy?... I have not had sex sense then, I have not even been wearing underwear lately so that can't be it, nothing in my diet has changed... I am a day late on my period. Has anyone had a yeast infection as the first sign?-
ANSWER:
I had a yeast infection when I went in for my 12 week appointment and I'm pretty sure I had it for a short while before they told me.My mom found out she was pregnant with my sister when she went in to the doctors for a yeast infection, so yes, I guess a yeast infection could be a sign, but not really a guarentee since you can really get a yeast infection at any time.

QUESTION:
Yeast Infection in Early Pregnancy?
I have NEVER had a yeast infection. After some googling and talking to a friend, that is what I have lol. Could It possibly be a sign of pregnancy? I have received one dose of the depo provera shot but it wore off by the end of October. I never got my second dose. My husband and I are sexually active almost everyday and since the end of November I have had terrible heartburn, headaches, nausea, fatigue, the whole kit and kaboodle. I took a pregnancy test in the beginning of December but it came up negative. As I have not had a period due to the Depo shot, I do not know if I tested to early. I've read on a baby site that Yeast infections are more prone in pregnant women, but I'm wondering, if I'm only a few weeks pregnant would I already be getting a yeast infection due to all the hormones going crazy? I've not been on Anti-biotics, as I know that can cause yeast infections.I have two children and never had a yeast infection with either, but I know they CAN happen in pregnant women. I want to test again but Im still not sure if it is to early and if Yeast infections can even be considered a sign in early pregnancy.

I've been having pelvic pain since last March on and off. esp it's burning sensation and feel
pelvic bone pain, and I had to go to bath room every hour ( for urine) when my pelvic area start having pain and burning feel. went to see my primaru care Dr.
he sent me to see urologist. I had byopsy and
cystoscopy & ultra sounds. result is nothing wrong anything. but Dr found out that I have microscopic blood in my urine. Dr sent my urine to the Lab to find out where it's from.
result came back that it's from Kidney.
then I went to see Kidney specialist had blood test etc. the kidney specialist told me that I don't have any problem with kidney. ( now I remenber I had microscopic blood in my urine on and off since I was child) I noticed that everytime my pelvic area is pain & itchy same time my scalp is pain & lot of hair fall out also near the under arm is pain. so I went to see dermatologist ,
they took look well my scalp and nothing wrong. however I feel that something going on with my body because the pelvic pain is really hurts. I went to see othere dermatologist .
he told me no ploblem...
I told all Dr I've seen about my pelvic pain and itchy and scalp pain , hair fall out. all DR didn't give any opnion or suggestion.time is past. end of last month. the pain really getting worse also urine a lot .I went to immidate care. because I thought that I might have bladder infection.
Dr prescribed ciprofloxacin for 3 days and he sent my urine to lab to see if there is bacteria.
3days later he called me that I don't have bacteria. so I don't have a bladder infection or tract infection.
however my pain got 50% less and hair shed got 50% less since I took the cipro.
I told about it to the Dr.
.he told me that I might have a yeast infection.
so I called to my gynecologist to ask to fluconazole 150mg for 3 days ( by the way. I just had my annual check last month . result is negative, but he felt my fibroid got bit bigger than last year. so I had ultra sound .however the fibtoid is not big to worry or not tiny )
I just finished the 3 days fluconaszole.
90% pain is gone now . what's surprised is my hair don't fall out like 200 every shampoo any more
it's became half shed which like 90 every wash.much less pelvic pain and less mumber to go urine.
scalp pain is less. I've suffering this pain since march..... had lot of test.( 3-4 times blood test too )
now 90% of pain is gone. can't belive it...
now my question is
I am wondering if I am having any other infection??? yeast infection can cause the much pain?
how come any Dr never found out...? I am having this for long time , so I am wondering if 3 days floconazole is enough to be cured ?I 've not having any discharge or any bad smell .
just pelvic pain ( out side where hair grow)
and under arm pain and scalp which all pain is locate at place where hair gorw .
my scalp and genetial area become so itchy when I tool shower at that time.am I having hair folicle fungus infection? is it possible that no visible sign?
near under arm is still bit pain also by the knee too.
( I had Tyloid TSH ,T4. T3 , SLE test and lups test too. all came back negative )
thank you very much for reading. and sorry my english is not good enough.-
ANSWER:
I think you should find another doctor. A new OBGYN and a new dermatologist. Find one that sees a lot of patients. The more people the doctor sees the more knowledgable they are. It's not good to come on line to get medical advice because it could be anything but I can tell you that yeast infections aren't supposed to hurt it's just real itchy with thick yeast white discharge and uncomfortable. Not painful.

QUESTION:
Yeast Infection & Pregnancy?
Hey Everyone,I'm currently about 20/21 weeks pregnant with my second child. (my son is currently 2 years old) I seem to have forgotten what being pregnant is like!
When I went in on Nov 2007 for my prenatal testing, I came out negative for everything (STI/STD wise) and didn't have an abnormal pap. My doctor mentioned she saw a sign of "yeasties" on my exam, but nothing to worry about. Well, I do have the semi-typical syptoms of a yeast infection; slight itchy, slight burning (all outside) and my discharge is a normal color it's always been (between clear-whitish-buttery whitish).
Well, I'm nervous about using the over-the counter products and I'm seeing my doctor (routine) on Thursday. I was test for sti's/std's 2004, 2005 and now 2007 - so I'm sure it isn't anything like Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. Yet, I never had used those products before and my mind is getting paranoid more so now. Yes, I have had YI's before my pregnancy but they usually cleared up with my period.
The question is: Should I ask my doctor about meds to take or should I just do the over-the-counter meds?
I also have a tipped uterus so when I had used them, a long time ago, it wasn't very easy.
And of course, I cant try the Vagsil testing because it says pregnant women can't use it.-
ANSWER:
when I was pregnant they gave me a prescription for the inserts and said it would be fine to take since YI's are common with pregnancy.

QUESTION:
I need some advice from to be moms or moms:)?
Well me and my boyfriend have had sex 3 times this month. Each time we didn't use protection. He always pulled out and then he you know what on my leg or somewhere close, except one time he exploded some in me and some out of me. He is not suppose to be able to have children but i have been having some of these signs: Yeast infection(I read on internet that some women claim to have had them in the first month of pregnancy), Kinda like cramps in my lower stomach, sore boobs(My boobs never hurt even when i am on my period), bloating, can't sleep until exhausted and even then can't get comfy, nausea, and dizziness.
I would like some real advice and symptoms you had in your first month of pregnancy. Please don't be rude and tell me we should wear condoms or anything like that. Also, i plan to buy a pregnancy text within two weeks. Thanks and sorry so long:)
Just for your information i have gone to the doctors with him he DOESN'T have STDs and he CAN'T have kids. I do know you can get pregant from tht. If you notice there is nothing up there that says i didn't want to be prego. I asked for no rudeness and i don't find it neccessary when you don't have any information except what you think. Sorry if i sound rude but i hate when people do stupid stuff like that.-
ANSWER:
"He's not supposed to be able to have children." According to who? Him or a doctor? If there's no real proof that he can't have children, he's just saying that so that he has an excuse not to wear a condom. Just something to think about.
Take a pregnancy test.
