Yeast Infection In Men

Whenever people think about yeast infections, they naturally think about the fact that women tend to get them on a regular basis.  It is not necessarily that the yeast likes to attack women more than it does men but it is the fact that the female sex organ provides a perfect breeding ground for this yeast to grow.  You might be surprised to learn, however, that men often get yeast infections that are damaging and can even go undetected for long periods of time.  What can be done if a man finds himself in a situation where this is occurring?

First of all, you have to realize that if a man has a yeast infection, more than likely his wife is going to be dealing with a yeast infection regularly as well.  Although it may not be recognized on the man, it will easily be recognized in a woman.  In order for you to be able to get rid of your yeast infection effectively, both you and your partner are going to have to go through the same natural treatments at the same time.  This is really the only way that you’re going to effectively get rid of it because if your wife still has an infection, even a slight one, it will be passed back to you during intercourse.

Believe it or not, one of the most common reasons why men experienced yeast infections is because they have been on a long course of antibiotics.  Many doctors will prescribe antibiotics in order to kill bad bacteria that is in our body and making us sick.  Unfortunately, antibiotics are not discriminate whenever it comes to the type of bacteria that they are attacking.  Along with the bad bacteria that they are removing, they are also removing the good bacteria which is what keeps our body balanced and keeps the yeast in check.

What do you do if you have a yeast infection?  If it is an external yeast infection, you may try applying some natural yogurt to the area on a regular basis.  The bacteria that is in the yogurt is similar to the bacteria that our body needs in order to fight off a yeast infection.  Another thing that you may want to try is drinking two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar on a daily basis.  Don’t try to drink it straight but mix it in with some water and you will be able to get it down without any problems.  This will provide you with some natural relief and keep the problem from occurring again in the future.
